Last weekend I went to cinema to see the movie "Secret" from Jay Chou. The movie itself was quite okay, it was supposed to have a surprising plot twist at the end; but it didn't really surprise me, I've seen similar plot twists before.
It made me think if it is still possible to come up with a concept that has never been done before or a plot twist that will still really surprise you? I've seen quite a lot of movies in my life and really like the movies that have a plot twist that you didn't see coming. But must admit the last movie that really surprised me has been quite some time ago...
I still enjoy seeing new movies but also must admit that I do have a sense that the more movies I still see the less interesting/enjoyable it will get at some point.
Feel the same or totally disagree? Feel free to leave me a message in the comments...

I think before we visited this movie - Secret, we already know this movie is not going to be very surprising..afterall, it's produced by a commercial oriented artist - Jay Chow..
I think it's possible, but its tough in this market. I'll have a post on it soon, but the gist of it is.. since people don't go to the movies, studios won't put out the big bucks to make quality film. It's possible, just much more difficult.
I don't think studios need to spend big bucks to make high quality movies. Spending a lot of money on the effects, big name actors etc. doesn't make a movie good.
I think the much lower budget movies are normally more interesting. They try to come up with innovative ideas to attract people. But unfortunalely the majority of the people seems to rather see a movie full of explosions so the real good movies normally don't get the attention they deserve, and often don't even make it to the cinema :(.
